Spanish shoe designer Manolo Blahnik has recently opened its new showroom in Selfridges, London featuring a number of bespoke pieces from the Oficina Inglesa workshop
Oficina Inglesa has unveiled a range of pieces for the new Manolo Blahnik showroom in Selfridges, London. The furniture manufacturer offers a highly personalised service and works with the latest trends to provide products made from specially chosen woods and materials.
The interior for the showroom, designed by Manolo Blahnik, alongside a team of artchitects, was inspired by Manolo's hometown of Bath.
The designer was inspired by the city’s Georgian and neoclassical artchitecture, which he loves, “Our new store combines many elements of design and I love a bit of Regency, a bit of Georgian, some colour and contrasting monochrome.”
The collection features elegant brass sabots, buttons and bars. Two veneers were used to form the striped skirting of the furniture, while tops of the table were created with a cross-cut veener.
The furniture compliments the eye-catching designs on display, with bright pink and blue fabric on the upholstery which was created from horsehair.
