British watch brand Geckota has added an authentic vintage racing chronograph to its renowned W-02 range of classically-inspired watches
This makes three watches in the vintage W-02 chronograph family: the dress watch launched last year, plus the military and racing watches launched this year. The new vintage racing chronograph evokes the golden age of motorsport.
There is a choice of looks for this versatile chronograph. Each matte dial – available in either black or white, features two contrasting bold sub-dials. In line with the other W-02 models, the right sub-dial has a 30-minute counter, accompanied by a running seconds sub-dial on the left.
Like the dress watch and military watch, this Geckota W-02 features the Seagull ST19 hand-wound mechanical chronograph movement and offers a power reserve of around 42 hours, with a crystal clear case back for wearers to see the movement at work. The stainless steel case diameter is 37mm, and it naturally comes with a classic motorsport perforated leather strap.
Jon Quinn, Geckota managing director, said, “All of us at Geckota are massive fans of motorsport, and we’re also involved in supporting the careers of some up-and-coming British drivers. That deep interest shows in the latest watch we’ve created, which is a fantastic tribute to the racing heroes of the past, with real attention to detail. It’s a beautifully-made classic racing watch that you can wear any time, with proper heritage.”
