Beaulieu Supercar Weekend will pay tribute to the new era of lightning-fast electric cars with EV Evolution, a brand new feature showcasing a real-life timeline of plug-in powered vehicles as part of the packed weekend show from 3-4 August
Sponsored by specialists A-Plan Insurance, the unmissable two-day event celebrates the adrenalin-fuelled world of supercars with more than 750 jaw-dropping supercars in the grounds of the National Motor Museum for show-goers to see up-close.
EV Evolution will chart the development of electric cars into highly desirable performance machines. From the diminutive Sinclair C5 and practical first-generation Toyota Prius hybrid, through the Nissan Leaf to the impressive Audi e-tron, Jaguar I-PACE and the latest high-performance Tesla, the line-up will explore alternative technology used in the quest for speed and style.
The show is big on petrol-powered thrills, with astonishing landmark cars set to join the Prestige and Hypercar display on the lawns of Palace House. See motoring marvels such as the Bugatti Chiron, Mercedes McLaren SLR, Jaguar XJ220, Ferrari F40 and Noble M600.
Show-goers could be in with a chance of winning a seat on one of the demonstration runs, taking place twice daily on Beaulieu’s Chestnut Avenue. The Sporting Bears Motor Club will raise money for child bereavement charity Simon Says by raffling rides in its members’ supercars for the runs, drawing the tickets of lucky passengers.
The Supercar sound-offs will judge which engine has the best-sounding exhaust note, while a giant screen on the Events Arena will broadcast all of the event’s action live to give everyone a grandstand view.
Jaguar fans will be spoiled with the arrival of a very special machine, as Jaguar Land Rover brings its new Jaguar XE SV Project 8, a hand-built performance saloon which is sure to impress with its 592bhp supercharged V8 engine.
The Aston Martin Owners Club will take its place in the showground for the weekend with more than 100 Aston Martins. With its twin-turbocharged V12 engine will be the sleek Aston Martin DBS Superleggera TAG Heuer, which is built in collaboration with watchmaker TAG Heuer.
The display by Club Marcos International will celebrate 60 years of the respected British performance car marque Marcos, with a special line-up from the firm’s fascinating back catalogue.
More car clubs will be out in force at the show, including 60 machines from McLaren Owners UK, while Retro Rallycross will bring together a display of impressive historic rallycross racers.
