ed vidaThe latest addition to Heesen's fleet, YN 18455 Vida (formerly known as Project Antares), has left Dutch waters on her maiden journey to meet her new owners in the Mediterranean.

This comes after the yacht underwent four days of sea trials earlier in March, exceeding her contracted top speed along with way with a top recording of 16.4 knots, while keeping in line with noise and vibration level specifications.

Eco-awareness has played a large role in the crafting of Vida, with the yacht offering frugal consumption thanks to her 55-metre FHDH full and two diesel engines. The latest addition to Heesen's fleet also marks the first yacht to comply with the new IMO Tier III regulations, boasting a selective catalytic reduction system which reduces NOx in exhaust emissions.

Working closely with its client (an experienced yachtsman and sport fisherman), Heesen's Vida has been crafted to become a sleek and efficient addition to a sport fishing fleet. With this in mind, the yacht is able to refuel and recharge the owner’s Bayliss 60 and Bayliss 68 sportfish yachts, allowing him to enjoy the pleasures of on-sea living for several days on end.

In collaboration with B Design, the ship's interior features regal backlit ivory onyx arch framed at the entrance to the main saloon, serving as a display for a wine cellar for 21 bottles of bubbly on each side while creating a Gatsby-esque introduction to the social space. The yacht is also home to a statement staircase, equipped with luxurious floating steps, brandishing embellishments of fumé mirror and lacquered wood for an extravagant interpretation of maritime decor.

Vida is designed with accommodation for 12 guests, featuring five staterooms in the lower deck, as well as a 80sq m apartment on the main deck. Guests can work on their tans on Vida's 100sq m sundeck, which holds its own as an ideal place to unqind both during the day and at night. The sundeck is also home to a swimming pool (Featuring an awe-inspiring waterfall), as well as a fully equipped bar. Closer to the water, guests can relax in the 80sq m beach club, or get their pump on at the owner's fully equipped gym, built to its owner's specifications.

Vida will debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in September this year.
