Royal Huisman has announced construction is underway on Project 400, the world’s biggest aluminium yacht
The yacht, which will presented for the first time ever at the Monaco Yacht Show, is being constructed at the shipyard’s facilities in Vollenhove.
This new build project for an Asian client was unveiled by the joint team of Royal Huisman, Dykstra Naval Architects, designer Mark Whiteley and Bart Kimman of Northrop & Johnson Asia at the 2016 Monaco Yacht Show.
Royal Huisman completed the design phase over a year period, the construction planning and a large part of the engineering for this yacht –working together with the owner, his team and the architects. Royal Huisman noted that its biggest shipbuilding hall was upgraded as part of preparations for the new project.
According to the shipyard, the milestone all involved in the project were anticipating has been fulfilled: the keel is laid and the building frame for the main deck is under construction.
Royal Huisman will deliver this project in 2020 – when the world’s largest aluminium yacht, Riyal Huisman says, is expected to set sail to explore the oceans.
