DMB Liberty London Collection Launch042Liberty London Collection has launched its debut Spring ’20 ready-to-wear line at a runway show in the brand’s Regent Street Store

The range will be wholesaled worldwide from June to appear in-store in October 2019. The collection was designed in the London-based in-house studio and will consist of four seasonal drops per year: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.

Going forward, all categories of Liberty London including home and accessories will be designed to exist as complete seasonal collections under the design direction of Marler, said the new head of design, Holly Marler.

The Spring Collection draws inspiration from influential female surrealist artists from the 30s and the ‘total unconformity and liberty’ of the Bloomsbury set. This group, who were bound by their common interest of art, literature and intellect, challenged the idea of the female ‘muse’, and embraced eccentricity and creativity; the ethos of Liberty.

The designers explored Liberty’s extensive archive of over 45,000 prints, re-imagining historical designs into a brand-new forty-five-piece collection, where prints, such as our signature Ianthe print, have been reworked and placed to complement each silhouette. Elements from Liberty’s past and present have been subverted to craft exceptionally intricate pieces, decorated with unexpected details that appeal to our artistic shopper.

Evening and day dresses, skirts, jackets, two-pieces, shirts, robes and knitwear have been created using the finest Liberty silk, our signature Tana Lawn cotton and have been adorned with our 1950s Liberty ‘L’ design taken from the archive. Charming unfinished elements, including reversed ‘Liberty Silk’ ribbon running alongside trompe l’oeil detailing complement sequin embroidery, tiered ruffles and Liberty’s first ever lace.
